Sunday, Fun Day!! - Day 14

Day 14

we are 14 days into Faith in Family and i hope you have enjoyed these blogs...there have been some ups and some downs as we ask ourselves the hard questions...

today is just like last sunday...i want you to go and have fun doing something with your family...

on several evenings at cumberland cove on lake texoma, i would set with mama and herschel and play the famous game known as dominoes...it would amaze me when i would lay my domino down and then my grandmother would throw a domino down and say 'twenty-five"...i would just look at her in disbelief as she smiled her little smile and tell me,"you will get it one of these days."....it took me a while, but eventually i caught on...

during the day, after i got done fishing on the barge, herschel would like to teach me what he could with these terribly dangerous but extremely fun oversized darts you would throw in the air and watch them stick in the ground...you would try and make them into a small circle on your opponents end of the yard...one time herschel tried to teach me how to throw the darts and after i beat him 3 games to 1, he decided to teach me how to drop kick a football...he said it was the way he used to kick it when he played football...i will never forget him taking that ball and bouncing it once on the ground and with a ferocious leg kick, miss the ball completely, and both of his legs go flying out from under him and landing on his butt.  he not only cracked his booty, but also left a big imprint on the ground...i laughed so hard and couldn't quit, then i checked to see if he was okay...fun times and memories...

you ask what this has to do with anything...my grandparents took the time to "DO" something with me...

Challenge:

DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR FAMILY...
MAKE SOME MEMORIES...
IF YOU HAVE A SMALL CHILD, BE SURE AND GET ON THEIR LEVEL....
LET YOUR KIDS PICK WHAT YOU DO AND JUST GO AND DO IT...

doesn't matter what it is, just spend time with them and let them know you love them...you never know what might happen if you just spend time doing something with them...
